Biomechanical Examinations

In-depth gait analysis and biomechanical assessment to identify how your muscles, joints and body parts move in relation to each other.

In-depth gait analysis and biomechanical assessment

A biomechanical examination is an in-depth study of how your muscles, joints and body parts move in relation to one another. Poor biomechanics can lead to injury and hold back your performance — often without you realising it.

We assess your gait walking and running, then identify the faults, weaknesses and injury-prone areas that are loading the wrong structures. It’s the foundation of everything we do: you can’t fix a problem properly until you understand why it’s happening.

You leave with a custom treatment plan targeting exactly what we find — which may include orthotic therapy, footwear changes, strengthening work or technique adjustments.

What a biomechanical exam covers

  • Walking & running gait analysis
  • Joint range-of-motion assessment
  • Muscle strength & flexibility screening
  • Identification of biomechanical faults
  • Injury-risk & weakness mapping
  • A custom, prioritised treatment plan

Common questions

Who should have a biomechanical examination?
Anyone with recurring lower-limb pain, anyone returning to or ramping up sport, and anyone wanting to prevent injury or improve running efficiency. It’s also the starting point for prescribing custom orthotics.
What should I bring?
Wear or bring the shoes you train in, and any orthotics you currently use. Activewear you can move comfortably in helps us see your natural gait.
