What is a biomechanical examination?

Biomechanics is the study of how your muscles, joints and body parts move in relation to one another. A biomechanical examination is an in-depth assessment — including gait analysis — of exactly that.

Poor biomechanics can lead to injury and to poor performance. By identifying faults, weaknesses and injury-prone areas, we can correct them before they cause a problem, or address them when they already have.

What you get

  • A detailed gait analysis of how you walk and run
  • Assessment of muscle, joint and limb movement
  • Identification of biomechanical faults and weaknesses
  • A custom treatment plan targeting those areas

A biomechanical exam is the foundation of much of what we do — it’s how we make sure your orthotics, footwear and rehab are all pointed at the real problem.
